VICTOR GRASSO - NEW PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS - 2010
Victor Grasso - Artist Statement
My mission is to construct unusual circumstances from ordinary situations, and my muse is the southern New Jersey
coastline. Mixing local flavor, a heavy dose of femininity, historical irony, naturalism, and a rich maritime legacy, I convey a vision of mischievous unpredictability. Through painting and drawing in the realist tradition, I push the limits of the viewers' recognition. I seek, and portray, a mysterious allure in the people, and the terrain, of the southern shore communities.
