Greg Bennett - Artist Statement
"As with all of my paintings, they are inspired by events in my life, rarely anything dramatic, just simple observations inspired by walks along the shore or travels to near by states. In this particular exhibition, two of the paintings came about by an evening with fellow artist, acoustical guitar music and a bonfire. A common theme in my work is always about the personality of my subject and capturing the light to illustrate a mood. As the artist, my journey creating the painting is one that I cannot describe in words, it is very personable and is mostly an emotional one."
