I try to keep painting raw and fresh. I exaggerate color and occasionally use paint right out of the tube. I paint both lazily and meticulously, allowing for a conversation of opposites and duality to take place within a single canvas. I focus on the smaller and finer details within my landscapes, however subtle, often to such a point that I forget what my end goal is. The visceral truth about painting is that there are no rules. There is a certain fear that parallels an art void of correct answers, and in that I find complete reassurance.
