Jimm Ross – Biography
b.1966, Trenton, MI
Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, I have always strived to express my creative visions via art and music.
I owe much of my early art drive to Snoopy, winning my first art award in second grade for creating a Peanuts scene that became the theme for the yearly school carnival.
I moved to Philadelphia in 1990 to attend business school and was exposed to many diverse artistic communities.
My passion for painting was ignited in the early 90’s after traveling to France and Italy.
Studying with many renowned teachers over the next twenty years, including Cape Mays’ Signature Master Pastelist - Stan Sperlak, I became quite determined to follow my own path of art creation.
Moving to Cape May, N.J. in 1999, a “community with endless scenes of inspiration and beauty”, I discovered pastel paints, embedding my inspiration to create on a consistent basis. I feel quite fortunate to be able capture and share the essence of what I see around me.
My artwork has been collected and commissioned by many galleries and private enthusiasts along the East Coast.
Active associate member of the Pastel Society of America.
