Outside/Inside is a collection of paintings of very familiar subjects that I have explored for decades, I’m continually fascinated with the effects that time has had on objects from having been exposed to the elements, these objects also have in a way, played witness to history. History, in part, is an element to my interior views that are more fanciful rather that wholly literal. A fun aspect of being an artist is creating an illustration of a world that you imagine; bringing it to life on canvas as if it were an actual moment in time, capturing an inherent magic of a scene. Animals too, have become a part of the imagery in this exhibition, they lend a certain animated component which is evident in their expressions.
