As you look at my work this year, you will see three different genres of painting. Some of my paintings lean towards realism, others abstract and the third are decorative. I paint this way to keep my eye, mind and hand fresh in the expression of the subject I am looking to capture. Some paintings were painted en plein air, some from photographs and others from a culmination of images and colors composed in my mind.
This year my show is dedicated in memory of my dear friend Betty Moffatt. These paintings are of many places Betty enjoyed and loved. Twenty percent of the sales from my show will be donated in her memory to The Fund for Cape May, a non-profit whose mission is beautification, preservation and providing educational programs encouraging active citizenship in our youth.
There will be a bench in Betty’s name, in the town that she loved.
Thirty-Five percent of the sales will be donated to Gabrielle S. Cerminaro Arts Scholarship, a non-profit whose mission is to help youth express themselves through the arts.
