Penny Beck is originally from the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York. From 1979-1982 she attended the York Academy of Art in York, Pa. where she studied Fine Art. After Art School she moved to Reading, Pa. and was very active in the Berks Art Alliance and had shown in numerous shows in the Harrisburg and Reading areas. Penny moved to Cape May in 1985 and soon after started a painting business called Room Service Painting, A faux finish, decorative painting and mural business of which she recently retired from after 20 years. Working with large-scale murals and decorative finishes has given Beck a solid foundation and confidence when working on canvas; she incorporates much of her decorative finish techniques in her artwork. Beck has also painted with the St. Barnabas Painters for over 15 years and her artwork is in many private collections.
