“Mercury And The Little Mysteries/Bonus Version” isa collection of new oil paintings (Mercury) and smaller Egg Tempera collages (The Little Mysteries) that were inspired by Amig's weekly seaside strolls to a bird refuge. Three large minimalist paintings of beach dunes with a thin 'mercury' colored line running through each, denotes changing temperatures and the passing of time. The Little Mysteries, a series of small egg tempera collages, are close up observations of beach elements, relating to the larger beach scenes, and float surrounding the larger paintings. These images of shells etc. are to remind us and are evidence of the temporal form of fleeting moments. “These creatures are not images in a distant scene; they mean to engage directly, emotionally, and psychologically with the viewer.” Also on view - "and it was good" - a series of five gull paintings in whicheach painting "references to Genesis and an artist who inspired me early on in my career."
