SOMA NewArt Gallery is pleased to announce a new show featuring artist SEAN TAYLOR in a Solo exhibition of new paintings titled "You Pay Your Money and You Take Your Chance."
In his eighth solo show at SOMA gallery; Taylor reveals the game of life through a balance of concepts, allegory and observed representation. This new collection of oil and acrylic paintings delivers a powerful array of work traversing the genres of subconscious narratives to objective realism.
The show is divided into three sections. Gallery One: a series of allegorical works divined from personal experience and the greater cultural realm of myth, history, and modern literature. Gallery Two: an affair with the allure of simple beauty of pastel colors dancing on the youthful surface of sun kissed skin. Gallery Three: A bountiful collection of Cape May vistas and local landscapes.
Sean Taylor is an award-winning graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he earned the coveted Richard C. Von Hess tuition/travel scholarship. Taylor holds degrees in Sociology, History, and Teaching. Taylor has produced fourteen solo exhibits; he has shown in New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston, Denver, Washington D.C. and Chicago. Taylor's paintings are placed in multiple private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. Taylor’s work has varied from figurative, narrative/allegorical “vignettes that focus on a subliminal definition of Americana” to more traditional landscape and still life studies.
