Ali Cavanaugh (b. 1973; lives and works in St. Louis, Missouri) works directly on kaolin clay using a modern fresco technique she developed in over the course of seven years in Sante Fe, NM. Her work is featured in more than 400 private and corporate collections, and she has painted portraits for TIME Magazine and New York Times.
