I have painted a variety of subject matter from portraiture to still life's and although I've learned from every painting, it was all becoming tedious to me and I began to feel bored with my work. Since choosing to paint landscapes, I feel revitalized and excited about my painting again. Not only can so much be learned from executing a landscape, but there's a freedom offered to explore possibilities that otherwise might not be allowed in other more static subject matter. I feel a particular affinity toward the quiet stillness of a snowscape, the awesome power of a wave and the absolute miracle of a flower. I can only paint what I truly love.
