My love of art began early in my life. Some of my family are talented and were very encouraging. I attended some courses at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and at Moore College of Art and Design, but I am mostly self-taught.
Everywhere I look, I find beauty. The inherent beauty of nature fills me with peace and inspires me to create. Nature refreshes and I strive to reproduce that feeling in my work. I like to explore the relationship between light and form. The play of light on fabric and texture fascinates me.
I am drawn to all types of subject matter, from the birds outside my window, the sparkle of a found object, the gentle lapping of the Delaware Bay, to the horseshoe crabs at the water’s edge.
I paint what is pleasing to me and I am happiest at my easel. I hope to impart some of the joy I feel while creating to those viewing my work.
