Born and raised in Philadelphia, I was fortunate to be surrounded by Art Museums and cultural events. Some of my family members were very talented and encouraged me to pursue my joy of creating. I studied art in school and took a few courses at Moore College of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art but I am mostly self taught. I eventually settled near Cape May, NJ where I spent most of my childhood summers.
Everywhere I look, I find beauty. The inherent beauty of nature fills me with peace and inspires me to create. Nature refreshes and I strive to reproduce that feeling in my work. I like to explore the relationship between light and form. The play of light on fabric and texture fascinates me.
I paint whatever catches my eye and am especially drawn to horseshoe crabs and water scenes. Reflections of light continue to fascinate me. I was honored to have a show at SOMA Gallery last year. My life has been very joyful and fulfilling.
