Patricia L. Caulfield - Bio
Contemporary Artist
Clouds have always been a fascination for Patricia L. Caulfield. By constantly studying their form, movement and light Patricia creates atmospheric paintings without using photographic reference. Her focus is on abstract art that includes both land and seascapes. Always drawing from the power of nature, her vision of depth and space is brought to the forefront in her work. Patricia works in mixed media on birch cradleboard and paper using acrylic paint, collage, oil pastel, oil sticks, pencil and vine charcoal along with sanding and distressing.
Patricia is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art and completed the Art2Life Creative Visionary Program in 2020. She is a member of Creative York and The York Art Association, both in York, PA and the Harrisburg Art Association in Harrisburg, PA. She has shown and sold her work in all locations. She is the recipient of the Rottler Award of Excellence at the York Art Association, June 2021. She also received the Award of Excellence at the York Art Association’s 50th Annual Juried Show in October 2021. Branching out into public art, Patricia’s seascape group of four paintings are a part of the permanent collection at the Wellspan York Campus Cancer Center.
In 2021 Patricia was named Chair and curator for an art show and auction for visually impaired artists by the Glaucoma Research Foundation in San Francisco, CA. The event was held in conjunction with their annual three day event, Glaucoma 360, at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco CA, February 2022. Over one million dollars was raised. Patricia is also a panelist on the Glaucoma Research webinars and recently accepted the role of keynote speaker for the Patient Summit in June in Oak Brook, Il with the Glaucoma Research Foundation.
Patricia’s exhibits for 2022 will be at held the Out Door Country Club in York, PA during May/June. She will be part of a group show for the Rottler Award Winners at the York Art Association in York, PA in June/July and at the SOMA NewArt Gallery in Cape May, New Jersey in September through November. Patricia is also a resident artist at the Garth Gallery in Columbia, PA.
